2 more weeks

When my husband first started his countdown texts (ie "24 more days honey") I would almost burst out crying and have a mini anxiety attack!! Leaving in under 2 weeks and still have no job in Samoa, still not sold the house here, still not cleared out the storage shed, and pretty sure even after sending another 2 crates to Samoa last week........I am definately going to be over the 23kg limit when I fly out!!

But tonight when he text to say "12 more sleeps babe" I felt very happy and EXCITED. So what if I havent got a job yet, I have enormous faith that things will work out for the best!! Not as if I havent moved countries before with no job........though we are still in a recession, and I dont speak the language!! I still have faith:)

Sent around the link to our new business website yesterday to some trusted friends for some advice.......thank goodness, picked up all my little typos and things that were not working!! Im pretty stoked with it, first time Ive built a website, and its so been cool learning how to do it, few little things to finish, to make sure it works on mobile phones, is optimised for Google blah blah - than yay, will start doing my facebook promotions and fingers crossed........heres hoping my little wedding planning business kicks off!!  Considering I didnt know how to set up a blog 3 months ago.......i think ive come a long way I.T wise!!

Im a lawyer, project manager, consultant............yet I cant get employed in Samoa until I learn Samoan, so have to create my own opportunities:).

As they say - necessity breeds innovation.  Fingers crossed :)  12 more sleeps.

Its a new day

Actually its a new year - 2012.

And I still have no internet..........but for some odd reason I have managed to get online to the blog sites at work - which are normally blocked....it must be cos its the holidays and Im the only crazy person that has been in for most of the week, including stat days??. So yay, over 2 months of zero updates - I can finally update this thing....and yes, I know I probably could have via my Iphone - but I barely post FB updates on that, so this blogs out of luck:)

Since last update I have packed up everything and moved out of my house, everything went to storage, and Ive so far sent two crates & other stuff over to Samoa.  We have one more to ship over this month, then everything will be there....bar me....and then Ive just got to get rid of all the stuff im not taking!! Hopefully wont take too long.  Staying at Mums which has no internet atm.....long story....but its probably for the best otherwise I may never get off Trade me. And I may never curb my "I may need that over there" buying spree......so its probably great not having internet access for now.

Been online at work today (no im not slacking, its not a work day-  im just in the office!) checking out different things, I seem to have a lot of odd questions about Samoa in my mind these days as the move date gets closer.

Productive day - found some good information about the best herbs, fruit and veges to grow in the tropics....other than bananas & taro....could not track down any "garden centre" within Samoa, or any other specific Samoa gardening info, so not sure how im going to get all the stuff to make my gardens since I cant take any seeds into Samoa........but we shall see.  Last time I was over there we went to MAF and got some tomato & cucumber seedlings, which the hubby tells me have since withered and died despite his best efforts. Great. So, may have to try again once I get there.

I keep wanting to post a question on the Facebook groups Im in....but I think they are more orientated at young Samoans living away, not old palangi wives!!.  And judging by the amount of pictures of hot Samoan men with no shirts, discussions about falavelave, and agony aunt type forums......which are hilarious......Im not sure Id get any responses asking gardening questions. LOL. So, Ill just have to figure it out when I get there!!

Less than a month to go....have so much to do here.....and I really just want to go now :)

Im getting all excited, and with every crappy cold day here in Auckland...I think of sunshine and warmth of Samoa....and think, not long to go now :)
